Question: How does American Hotel Services make the guest directory and binders available to hotels at NO COST?
Answer: AHS makes this package deal available to hotels at NO COST by selling advertising space to local businesses such as restaurants, car rental services, taxi services and others that are interested in marketing their products and services to your guests.

Question: Is there an additional cost for the hotel to have the guest directories printed in full-color from cover to cover?
Answer: No, we offer a full-color directory as our standard product to all our clients. This is what sets AHS apart from our competitors. We will provide your hotel with an upscale full-color guest directory at no additional cost to you.

Question: Does hotel management retain control over the contents of the directory?
Answer: Yes, our representative will have an initial production meeting with members of the hotel management team to discuss all content. Control of directory content does not only refer to the hotel information but it also extends to any advertiser the hotel might object to having in their directory, This includes the welcome letter, hotel amenities, hotel layout and other relevant information your guests need during their stay.

Question: How long is the hotel expected to keep the directories in the rooms?
Answer: Our Guest Directory agreement is an industry standard one year commitment. The agreement begins on the day we deliver the directories to the hotel, with the understanding that the directories will be placed in each room within seven business days. Towards the end of the agreement, AHS will give the hotel an option to renew for another year at NO COST or terminate the agreement with no further obligation.

Question: What options are available to the hotel if they do not want any advertisers in their guest directory or binders?
Answer: If the hotel does not want any advertisers in their guest directories or binders they have the option of paying for the production of these products at the hotelšs expense. In this case, there is no further obligation on the hotelšs behalf.

Question: What happens if the hotel agrees to have AHS produce their guest directories and binders and AHS is unable to generate enough advertising revenue to support the products at NO COST to the hotel?
Answer: This is where AHS stands apart from our competitors. If we cannot generate enough income to justify these products for your hotel, AHS will produce the product at its own expense. The hotel will not be held accountable in any way if our representatives do not generate advertising revenue. The directories and binders will still be produced for the hotel at NO COST. This is a guarantee that no other guest directory company is willing to offer.

Question: Can the hotel state its objection to an advertiser at anytime during the project?
Answer: If the hotel management has certain advertisers they do not want as a sponsor in their directories or binders, management can ask for these sponsors to be written into the agreement. However, if there is an advertiser which has not been specified at the initial meeting which the hotel objects to we will honor that objection and remove the specified advertiser. Our representatives have already been directed to avoid sponsors with sexual content, gambling content or alcohol related content.

Question: How long will it take to produce the guest directories and binders?
Answer: Normal production time for an guest directory and binder is eight to ten weeks. However, if the hotel needs extra time to get us the required information to properly complete their guest directory, we will follow the time line set by the hotel.

Question: Is the hotel required to provide the AHS representative with a room and phone access during production?
Answer: We would need the hotel to provide a room and phone access only if we do not have a representative within a 50 mile radius of your property.

Question: Does the hotel have different directory and binder styles to choose from?
Answer: Yes, AHS offers guest directories in loose sheet style, saddle stitch style, tiered or tabbed. We also offer three ring binders in a variety of colors, padded or unpadded, and in a variety of cover materials.
